The second song on this video, when sung with the original lyrics, is usually accompanied by a Confederate Flag. Stupid fucking Liberals, anyone? {Not you Courtney. You know I wuv you, even with your unfortunate political affiliation!} Or is this just another case of "taking it and making it totally Politically Correct a show of their stupidity for all the world to see their own"?



Obama is not a god, people!! He is a half black, half white, inexperienced, completely inept JUNIOR Senator who convinced a group of naive, starstruck people to vote for him through expert manipulation and celebrity endorsements. How much time did he actually spend as a Senator before running for President? 143 days? Yeah, THAT qualifies him to run the whole damn country. Sure!

All he really is is a cheesy, greasy car salesman who lies to get you to buy his piece of shit vehicle. He has given every man, woman and child in this country a debt of $66,000.00. And this figure is sure to rise as he taxes us little people onto the welfare rolls and out of our jobs and takes our money to give to the big corporations in a desperate attempt to revive a brain dead economy. Yep, he changed things, but not for the better. AIG and their six figure bonuses and luxury vacations, anyone? Uh huh, I thought so.

I have one thing to say about this: If I ever find out that my daughter has been made to do anything like this in class, there will be such a stink made by be and my Husband, it will make their collective heads spin. We will file lawsuits upon lawsuits. And believe you me, heads will roll. My daughter will not be indoctrinated into this bullshit called Socialism. If the American public lets this happen, it will be the death of everything this country was founded upon and holds dear. We might as well all become members of Al Qaeda and start speaking Chinese.

Then there is this little ditty from last year's campaign. I saw images of kids singing to the "dear leader" when I first heard this song. It turned my stomach. It still does. And what, exactly, has Obama changed? There is still the same pork barrel spending, catering to special interest groups, greasing palms, political corruption and catering to the rich that there has always been where the Democrats are concerned. Oh, let's not forget about their need to control every aspect of our lives because we are too stupid to figure it out on our own.

Contrary to popular belief and Party rhetoric, the Dems are not "for the people". They are for the people that believe as they do, only. All dissenters will be shunned, torn apart by the media then shot in a fully televised public execution, as a deterrent, lest anyone else try to think for themselves.

9/11...I Still Remember. I Cannot Forget...

I have re~posted what I wrote last year on the anniversary of this horrible day, my generation's Pearl Harbor. The day we lost our innocence and belief that terrorism could never happen on American soil again...The day the fact that another religion hates us so much for being Americans, Christians and Jews that they would kill themselves in order to kill us was drilled mercilessly into our collective psyches. The day that forever changed us as a people, citizens and a nation...This is our Memorial Day.

This is a documentary I had not yet seen until a couple of days ago. It is quite amazing. It is visceral, powerful and thought provoking. It brought me right back to the feelings I had on 9/11. It is called The Falling Man. I hope you will watch it, in it's entirety, and comment on it.

The Falling Man by Tom Junod {Esquire Magazine, September, 2003}:

"Is Jonathan Briley the Falling Man? He might be. But maybe he didn’t jump from the window as a betrayal of love or because he lost hope. Maybe he jumped to fulfill the terms of a miracle. Maybe he jumped to come home to his family. Maybe he didn’t jump at all, because no one can jump into the arms of God.

Oh, no. You have to fall."

The film is centered around the famous picture of the man who jumped from one of the upper floors of the North Tower that day, rather than burn to death. This was the last thing the victims had control over; how they were going to die. Many made the choice to jump and breathe some fresh air as they plummeted to their deaths. They all knew they were going to die that horrible day, at least they were able to choose their own method.

I wrote about my feelings last year. That post is still valid today, except my feelings have become even stronger. Is it because I am older? A Mother? Or because it has been eight years and there has still been no closure or justice for those that were murdered that day and Bin Laden still trolls a cave somewhere in Afghanistan spewing out his hatred and vitriol against my country and my faith? Or is it because I hear and see all the hatred lobbed at our soldiers and their families for doing only what they signed up for and are directed to do?

I cannot answer that. I only know that I have heard the worry in my friends' voices as they tell me their husbands or sons or brothers are being sent on another tour of the war zone. Many of them have already done 3 tours. This war is seemingly never ending, but it is necessary in order to keep our world free and safe.

Freedom is never free. I wish the protesters against this war would take a moment to realize that small fact. The reason they are able to protest freely and without fear of death or torture is because of the sacrifices made by our soldiers and their families.

I remember waking up that morning at 6 am to get ready for work, turning on The KTLA Morning News, as I did every day, and seeing these images. At first, I thought it was a clip from some new action flick, so I didn't really pay much attention. I kept going about my morning, making my breakfast, etc.. When I finally sat down to eat & looked back at the T.V., I was transfixed. I truly could not believe that what I was seeing was real. As the full magnitude of what had just happened permeated my mind, I felt my heart begin to race.

I knew, without hearing any journalist speak the words, that Bin Laden was responsible. He had not accomplished what he set out to do in '93; this was unfinished business. And, sadly, I also KNEW what this meant for my country

As I was driving to work, I listened as a flabbergasted DJ screamed "The tower just fell!!" I gasped in horror. I was stupefied. How could this happen in America? How many people have now lost their lives just because they went to work today or boarded a scheduled flight? How could NO ONE have had any inkling that this was about to happen? WHY has this happened? Of course the answers to these questions would become clearer in the coming days, but I am still, seven years later, trying to understand why.

The images of that day are burned into my psyche. They still haunt me. The memories of that day & those that followed are still so visceral. I recall everything becoming so eerily still & quiet. All the planes were grounded. Co-workers of Middle Eastern descent, walked around with their heads down & would barely speak to anyone. I scarcely even recollect hearing any birds singing. It's almost as if they knew that our world, our lives, had been forever & irrevocably changed; that even their sweet songs could not break the deafening, black silence that had overtaken us.

I recall the elation I felt upon hearing someone had been pulled from "The Pile" alive. I also remember the inexplicable sadness when they stopped finding anymore victims. I recall the heartbreaking faces of the husbands, wives, mothers, fathers & children who were searching in vain for their loved ones. Those who were hoping against hope that they would find them alive. I remember. I remember. I will never forget. I cannot.

At that time, my husband was Non-Active Reserve, Air Force. I fearfully waited for a call from the base telling us he had been re-activated. Fortunately for us, that call never came. But many other families just like mine were not so lucky.

In the 7 years since 9/11, I have become a mother. She is now 3 1/2 and one of the great loves of my life. I wonder about what her life would have been like if the attacks had never happened. I also ponder what changes are in store for her growing up in a post 9/11 world. How will her childhood differ from mine & her Daddy's? Are terrorist & Osama Bin Laden going to be words that she understands before she is 5? What kind of country have these evil acts left for our children to inherit?

This past week-end, My husband & I watched "World Trade Center" & "Flight 93". For whatever reason, these two films affected me in a very profound way. I sobbed through them both. Lately, I find myself having extremely visceral reactions to anything 9/11 related. Maybe it is because I am a Mom now. Maybe it is because it has been 7 years and they still can't find Bin Laden. I don't truly understand it myself. I only know that this event was my generation's Pearl Harbor, and for us, now, September 11th is our Memorial Day.

I will never forget.

An Apple For The Teacher? Nope, School Supplies.

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in the Office Max pod cast with Peter Walsh. It was fun and we all got some great tips for getting our kids and ourselves organized for back to school. We twittered away, asking all kinds of questions and making comments about what we were viewing. There were two teachers there with Peter and something one of them said struck me as very sad. She said that instead of giving your child's teacher a coffee mug, or some other gift, to give them school supplies.

The average teacher in this country spends over $1200 of their own money in order to have the tools they need to effectively teach their classes.I have a big problem with this. Not the fact that the teachers are asking for help getting classroom supplies, but because athletes, celebrities and the like get paid millions of dollars while our teachers get an average of $51,000 per year according to a 2007 survey by the American Federation of Teachers. No wonder the public school system is losing teachers to privately funded schools. Better pay and all the supplies they need. What's not to love?

Does anybody see a problem here?

Teachers not only have to deal with sometimes insolent, out of control children, but also the downright violent kids. Still, they teach. Even though they get very little in the way of salary or recognition. Yet athletes and celebrities get worshiped like gods. And paid like them, too. Teachers are the biggest influence on our kids next to us, yet they get bupkis.

The disparity between athlete and celebrity pay versus a teacher's pay is appalling. Why do we let this happen in this country? We expect, hell we DEMAND, that our teachers effectively and competently teach our children. But how can they be expected to do their jobs without the proper, or even enough, tools? Our school districts, which our taxes help fund, are not giving their employees the supplies they need. I understand that budgets are tight, right now, but this is not a new problem. This has been going on for years.

I read an article in Parents Magazine a while back that said you should give your child's teacher a gift certificate for a spa or some other pampering type of service as a thank you for a job well done in lieu of the standard coffee mug. At the time, I thought it was a great idea. Now, after being reminded that they spend so much of their own money in an effort to give their students the best learning environment possible, I have changed my mind.

As a SAHM, I crave a break from my child, how do you think teachers feel when they have 30 of them everyday, with no breaks? And extremely low pay? Nearly all teachers do it because they love it. But when they are not given all that they need to do their jobs well and terrible pay, how long will it be before that love turns into burnout or bitterness? I honestly think that teachers having everything they need to get the job done will take a large amount of stress off of them and help them to teach more effectively. Less stressful teachers = happier students = better learning environment. Everybody wins.

There are two things I urge you all to do about this:

• First, write your school board, state representatives and congressmen and tell them that you think that teachers should have an increased salary and that they should not have to spend their own money for supplies the schools should be providing.
• Second, ask your child's teacher if they need any supplies, then get them a gift certificate for $5, $10, $15 or whatever you can afford to a good school supply store like Office Max. Or maybe even ask all the other parents to donate a few bucks and then get one large gift certificate for the teacher. Try to do this a couple of times during the school year.

What would be even better is for teachers to actually get paid what they are worth. I have heard all the arguments about how they get the Summers off and all the holidays, etc.. Those don't hold water for me. If Stay-At-Home-Moms got paid for everything we do, we would be making a six figure salary! Teachers basically have control of our most precious gifts, our children, for five hours everyday. They get to see our kids at their best and their worst. And they keep coming back day after day. Low pay and all.

We need to keep our quality teachers in the public school system. They need to be paid what they are worth. Soon all of them will be scooped up into the private sector, then where will our public educational system be? Not everyone can afford private schools.

I love political satire. It is one of the best kinds of humor. Isn't it great that we live in a country where we are free to speak out about our leaders without fear of punishment, death or fear for our families being hurt and/or tortured?

There Was A Young Woman Who Lived In A Shoe...

She had so many children, she didn't know what to do!!

Last week, a woman in my neck of the woods gave birth to octuplets. This is significant because they are only the second set of "live" octuplets to be born in the U.S.. The story has even gone international. When this was first announced, we knew nothing about the mother because she wished to remain anonymous. All we did "know" was that her "husband" worked as a civil servant in Iraq, she was 29 years old and they had 6 other children. Now we know this was not entirely accurate.

It turns out that this woman, Nadya Suleman, is a single 33 year old mother, self described "professional student" and lives with her parents. Nearly all of her children were conceived using In-Vitro Fertilization. It is her Father who works in Iraq and her Mother who is taking care of her children. This woman lives off of government school grants and her parents. Her choices have already caused her parents to lose their home, move in with their daughter (in the TWO bedroom bungalow THEY bought her two years ago) and grandchildren, one of whom is Autistic, and have to file for bankruptcy. The Grandmother, Angela Suleman, has already stated that she will not "be there" when her daughter comes home from the hospital.

While I have no problem with women using fertility procedures to get pregnant, if they have no other alternatives, I do, in fact, have a problem with a single unemployed Mother doing it when she already has SIX children. She now has FOURTEEN kids all under the age of eight. Are you kidding me with this? When I was told I had Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome and would never conceive naturally, I agonized over whether or not to use Fertility procedures. First, what if I took the Clomid and ended up with 7 babies (whatever is the strangest side effect of any drug, the 1 in a million, I GET IT!)? I know I would have been asked to do "selective abortion" in order to up the chances of carrying to term and not endangering my life or the lives of my remaining, viable unborn babies. This was not a choice I would have been willing to make. I could not have played God with my children's lives. But if it happened that I became pregnant with multiples and I did nothing, then I could risk having babies with severe disabilities or lose them all. Knowing this was a possibility was heart wrenching. I just couldn't do it. So I avoided fertility drugs altogether.

Then there was IVF. I could have all the hormones, have my eggs extracted and fertilized in a petrie dish with my Husband's sperm, have them implanted and hope one "took". This procedure could also produce a multiple pregnancy. There was also the little problem of how much this would cost. I called our Health Insurance Company to find out what was covered and was told that most of the treatments were, but there was a higher than normal co-pay. Yeah, like 5000% more! So that was out of the question. It was just too much money and there were too many variables involved that I wasn't equipped to deal with. {I ended up getting pregnant in 2004, by the Grace of God without the use of Fertlity drugs. We weren't even trying at the time, so it was a miracle!}

What I am trying to say here is how does an unemployed, single woman pay for IVF? Where did she get the money? Welfare? Did Medi-Cal cover this? Because Medi-Cal won't cover depression or ADD meds without making you jump through hoops of fire first! I am confused. And I am appalled at this woman. Her own Mother said she has "an obsession with babies". She manipulated a fertility doctor into implanting EIGHT embryos in her womb (or found an unethical one) when the regulations state that THREE is the maximum that can be implanted at any one time.

Now this woman is fishing for lucrative television deals and plans to become a "television childcare expert"! Are you really kidding me with this? Come on, REALLY? Ms. Suleman is planning on talking to Oprah (who else?) and Diane Sawyer. She wants sponsorships for diapers and formula. I have a novel idea, why doesn't she get the Daddies of her FOURTEEN kids to pay child support, get herself into some intense therapy, get herself fixed and get off her ass and get a job so she can stop sponging off her parents and the failed California economy. SHE chose to have the babies, SHE needs to take care of them and not expect others to pick up her slack.

This whole story just infuriates me. She has an Autistic child who needs specialized care, nobody knows yet if her newest "litter" are all completely healthy and she is hiring a publicist and asking for hand-outs from her hospital bed???? PLEASE! This woman obviously has some "issues" that needed to be addressed well before she became a Mother. But since that did not happen, she needs to do it now before she completely screws up the innocent children she already has!

I have no qualms with people having big families, as long as YOU can take care of them without government hand-outs. Once you make the choice, the consequences are also yours. The good, the bad and the ugly. Babies are not dolls to be dressed up and shown off. They are precious, human gifts from God who need to be loved, nurtured and raised the right way so that they become good, compassionate, productive members of society.

I pray that these poor babies do not just become another statistic.

I found this over at Kaiya's Laughter Heals. Court really has a great and twisted sense of humor! I love that in a person!

Due to the popularity of the "Survivor" shows, Texas is planning to do one entitled, "Survivor, Texas-Style."


The couples will first drive to Dallas , then drive to Waco, Belton, Austin, San Antonio and over to Houston and down to Brownsville . They will then proceed up to Del Rio, El Paso, Midland, Odessa, Lubbock and Amarillo . From there they will go on to Abilene, Fort Worth and finally back to Dallas .

Each one will be driving a pink Volvo that says:

"I'm Gay", "I Love the Dixie Chicks," "Boycott Beef," "I Voted for Obama", "George Strait Sucks," "Hillary in 2012" AND, "I'm here to confiscate your guns"

Open Letter To President Barack Obama

Mr. President,

Tomorrow you will become the first black president in the history of the United States of America. I congratulate you on this history making accomplishment. You genuinely seem to be a decent man, and maybe someone I would enjoy talking to over a beer, at least until the conversation turned to politics. That's when things might turn sour.

Now let me tell you why I don't, and will not support you. First and foremost, despite all your soaring rhetoric, you are a socialist and by definition you do not believe in the core principals that this country was founded on. Second, you are the most thoroughly un-vetted person to ever ascend to this office, you have yet to release a legitimate birth certificate, despite the fact that doing so would quash all the speculation about your true place of birth and citizenship. Third, it is already apparent that you intend to try to spend your way out of the current financial crisis, something that has never worked in the history of government, ever. Yet somehow you contend that this time it will work despite all historical
evidence to the contrary.

Next let's talk about your friends, and boy do you have some winners there. For twenty years you considered an America hating racist pastor as your close friend and mentor. And when called to task for this you claim you had no idea about his views and that in twenty years of attendance at the church you never once heard him say anything like that. This excuse means you are either oblivious to what is right in front of your face or an ass covering liar, neither of which gives me confidence in your ability to hold the office to which you are about to ascend.

You launched you political career in the living room of a home grown terrorist named Bill Ayers, whose actions directly led to the deaths of two police officers, one of them a black man. Yet you served on boards with this man, lived in the same neighborhood and even wrote a preface for one of his books. When called to answer for this relationship you claimed he was just a guy in your neighborhood. After you had won the election however Ayers began calling you a family friend again- funny that.

These are just two of the most egregious examples of more than questionable associations you have had over the years, to go through all of them would take up far too much room here. Mr. President, you are known by the company you keep. And I fear there is a reason for the company you have chosen to keep over the course of your short political career.

But my biggest problem with you Mr. President is that I believe you intend to take this country down the the road to Marxist Socialism, and that is completely unacceptable. Everything I have read written about you, everything I have read that you yourself have written and everything I have ever heard you say reinforces this conclusion. Put in to that mix Speaker Pelosi and the even crazier Harry Reid and I see this country headed down a road to utter ruin. From trying to make permanent bans on offshore drilling to your "Civilian Defense Force"- whatever that is- I see you wanting to make decisions that will adversely affect this country long after you are out of office.

Perhaps it is the radicals who educated you, or the radicals with whom you chose to associate both personally and professionally, perhaps it was the communist ideology that brought your parents together in the first place that was later infused in you, or maybe it's a combination of those and what I suspect is your foreign birth- But when I look at you I just do not see someone who embraces that which America is, who embraces the true soul of this nation. I see a man who wishes to remake this country in to a vision fed to him by his lifetime of indoctrination to a Marxist philosophy. I see a foreigner in both fact and philosophy.

Mr. President, I want you to be successful, but successful in a way that remains true to the ideals upon which this country was founded and that made it great. Unfortunately with your deeply rooted socialist beliefs, I don't think this is possible. I think you will cater to the left wing moonbats who got you where you are today, and that can only be bad for this country.

For all the reasons above and more, I cannot support you. I will do all I can to insure that you do minimal damage to this country and I will work diligently to defeat you in the next election.

Inauguration Day, History Is Made.

Today we have inaugurated our 44th President. He is also our first African~American President. This is historic. This is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream finally come to fruition. That is as far as my praise goes on this subject.

I didn't vote for Obama. I am a Republican/Libertarian and proud of it. I am also scared for our country. President Obama is a Socialist. Socialism only works in theory. Every Communist country started out as Socialist Republic. Don't believe me? Go look it up. U.S.S.R. stood for Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. "Nuff said.

I have no problem with the color of his skin. I have a problem with President Obama's experience, or lack thereof, on matters of state. He has no foreign policy experience either. The Cabinet he picked is, well, have you seen their questionable records? But my biggest problem, so far anyway, is the fact that he is spending $140 million dollars on Inaugural Balls and all the accoutrement's that go with them. Ummm, isn't our economy in the toilet? Couldn't that money be used to help stabilize things a bit? Maybe a bailout for us little people? I am appalled. Really.

There has been a big deal made about President Obama taking the same route from Illinois to Washington, D.C. that President Abraham Lincoln took in 1861 . OK, that is interesting. But don't the Democrats realize that Lincoln did not want to free the slaves, he only did so to try to save the Union during the Civil War?

"In his written response to Horace Greeley's editorial (see below), after having already discussed a draft of the Emancipation Proclamation with his cabinet, he says, "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that...I have here stated my purpose according to my view of official duty; and I intend no modification of my oft-expressed personal wish that all men everywhere could be free." In actual practice he freed all the slaves in confederate territories. Go here for more on this subject.

This misinterpretation of history does not surprise me. Most people believe that Christopher Columbus discovered America. He did not. He discovered the Bahamas, Cuba, Haiti, the coast of South America, Central America and the West Indies. But he also died convinced that he had only discovered the coast of Asia, not a whole other continent. Amerigo Vespucci discovered America, hence the name AMERICA.

The Liberal Democrats have also adopted Martin Luther King, Jr. as their defacto mascot. I find this absolutely hilarious considering that Dr. King was a registered REPUBLICAN, a fact that everyone on the left pretends is not true. Interesting how they like to twist historical facts to their own purposes, don't you think? And they accuse us Republicans of manufacturing facts not in evidence. HA!

While I am proud that this country is progressive enough to elect an African~American to its highest office, I am not sure the choice of character was a good one. He does hail from a state known for being filled with crooked politicians and one of the highest crime rates in America, even though handgun ownership was outlawed in Illinois in the early 1980's. I will give our new president a chance (well, what choice do I have?). But I am worried. I hope he proves me wrong, but I ain't bettin' on it. By the way, what exactly does it say about this nation that it would elect a black man as president before a woman? Makes you think, huh?

At 7:49 pm PST, we had a magnitude 5.0 earthquake centered approximately 15 miles from my house. It was loud. It was jarring. It scared the heck out of The Diva & the cat. Now she is afraid of another earthquake. She keeps saying "Mommy, be careful of the earthquake. Another one is coming!"

My theory? My Mother's plane must have landed.

Who Comes Up With This Stuff???

Now I have heard everything!!

I have called in sick, tired, broken legged, broke down car, crazy & even dead once (I had used up all my sick days!), but never GAY!! Good Lawd!! Never used this one before...get ready now & set your phasers to "FABULOUS!!!"

The next call to action for gay equal rights is the National call "gay" into work day, this Wednesday, December 10. Join The Impact, the good people who brought you the national protest on November 15, are requesting gays and lesbians stay home from work on Wednesday and refrain from spending any money. Some same-sex marriage supporters are urging people to "call in gay" Wednesday to show how much the country relies on gays and lesbians, but others question whether it's wise to encourage skipping work given the nation's economic distress. Organizers of "Day Without a Gay" — scheduled to coincide with International Human Rights Day and modeled after similar work stoppages by Latino immigrants — also are encouraging people to perform volunteer work and refrain from spending money.

"It's extra-challenging for people to think about taking off work as a form of protest, given that we are talking about people who may not be out (as gay) at work, and given the current economic situation and job market," said Jules Graves, 38, coordinator of the Colorado Queer Straight Alliance. "There is really not any assurance employers would appreciate it for what it is."

Graves' group nonetheless is arranging for interested participants to volunteer at the local African Community Center in Denver. The agency said it could find projects to keep 20 people busy, but so far only 10 have pledged to show up, said Graves.

Scott Craig, a fifth-grade teacher at Independence Charter School in Philadelphia, had no problem requesting and being granted the day off. So many of the school's 60 teachers were eager to show support for gay rights they had to make sure enough stayed behind to staff classrooms.

About 25 teachers plan to take Wednesday off and to have their work covered by substitutes while they discuss ways to introduce gay issues to their students and volunteer at the local branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, Craig said. A letter telling parents why so many teachers would be out went home Monday.

Witeck-Combs Communications, a public relations firm in Washington that specializes in the gay and lesbian market, published a study this year that estimated that gay and lesbian consumers spend $700 billion annually.

Hetherington said he has been careful to design A Day Without a Gay — he came up with the name after the film "A Day Without a Mexican" and liked it because it rhymed — so no one feels excluded or threatened.
